Links
Our Parish has links with a variety of local and national groups and organisations.
CAFOD
CAFOD is the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and our parish fundraises every Lent and Harvest in October, apart from the occasional special collection for a disaster or organised parish social.
We do Friday Lent lunches and monthly First Friday lunches to raise funds and awareness at St Cuthbert’s Unity Centre after mass at 12.00. We also allocate half of the tea and coffee ‘profits’ to CAFOD.
Sometimes we take part in campaigns led by CAFOD where government policy can effect a change for the world’s poorest.

Christian Aid
Christian Aid is the overseas development charity of all the main churches in the British Isles and we take part in the annual Christian Aid Week in May which involves house-to-house collections in our parish. We also participate in the Council of Churches Safari Supper every 2 years and the Christian Aid service annually.

Churches Together in Girlington, Heaton and Manningham
St Cuthbert and First Martyrs is a full and active member of our local ecumenical group.
There are 10 member churches of which we are the only Roman Catholic one. The churches meet formally 5 times a year and organise a unity service in January, women’s world day of prayer in March, Lent sharing groups, Holy Week and Easter worship events, a Pentecost service and celebration in Lister Park every 2 years, carol singing in Heaton and Manningham.
We also set up an advice centre at 203 Lumb Lane and manage a charity shop ‘Ark’ at 89 Heights Lane for which volunteers are always needed.
